Planning your North Georgia Elopement

When it comes to planning your North Georgia Elopement, here are a few things to consider! Especially if you’re planning long distance. These are written in no particular order.

1. How many people are attending? For Pablo & Rachel, they invited their closest family and friends, which brings us to…
2. Where will you be staying / having the ceremony? Here, they opted for a big airbnb on the water in Blue Ridge, GA for everyone to stay in. There was a gazebo on site where the ceremony took place.
3. Photo location. For many couples who choose to elope, the entire elopement is built around, you guessed it, LOCATION. Finding a location that speaks to you is key! So, for Pablo & Rachel who were coming from out of state, they were not familiar with the location. I arrived in Blue Ridge, Georgia a day early to location scout and find them their perfect location. The next day, after the ceremony, we hopped in my car and drove 15 minutes to this beautiful location they fell in love with.
4. Time of day. We’ll plan your timeline around light. Obviously, Sunlight waits for no one. For Pablo & Rachel, we timed their photos around sunset. This included driving time and getting to the actual location. Additionally, be sure to factor in multiple locations. We ended at location two where there was no trees blocking sunlight.
5. Make it yours. Remember, it’s YOUR day. Throw the rules out. After all, you’re eloping! Let those adventurous and free spirited personalities shine through. Pablo & Rachel customized a few different ways, they had their puppy come up after vows were official, her denim jacket was customized with her new last name, and they brought blue moons along to sit down and cheers to marriage. Photo time does not mean a constant camera in your face every second. It’s about celebrating the two of you and I’m along to tell the story of it all! Not missing a moment, but letting the moments flow naturally and candidly.
